Victory Bringer

I'm Deborah,
Wife,
Mother,
Grandmother,
Still learning,
Still growing
-- Still Dreaming.
Victory Bringer -- A Tribute

She lost her first husband in WWII,
Became well-acquainted with his best friend,
Who was also an ex-soldier coming to visit his friend's widow;
And they fell in love.
She moved north to Georgia,
Spent a life of service as a wife and mom;
And she worked in the sheriff's department
With her husband the sheriff.
During her twilight years,
Her husband and her son died,
But she continued to minister to her grandchildren and daughter-in-law.
She had been retired from the sheriff's department for many years.
But, even though she had thought she would spend those retirement years
With her husband, she was happy.
She was able to live her life with joy, despite the tragedies in her life.
She knew the Lord:  she had given her life to Jesus.
She dedicated her life to ministering to other people:
She was an encourager and a servant,
Until the Lord took her home at 91 years of age.
She blessed me and so many others that knew her with her
With her spicy-sweet spirit and her good humor.
One of her favorite sayings was,
"I'm happy, happy, happy."
The meaning of her name was "victory-bringer."

Thank you Lord for the inspiring life of your servant.  I only heard kind and encouraging words from this lovely lady.  May more of us live our lives serving as You would have us serve, until the day we are home with You.  In His Name, Amen.
